Quebec folk music group De Temps Antan brings audiences to feet-and even some members of the stage-as long as they live and exciting show “Les habits de Papier” in Spaulding Auditorium Hopkins Center for the arts on Saturday night. The group performed songs from their second album, presented language barriers for most of the audience-all lyrics sung in the original French band. Nevertheless, the band transcends linguistic and received tremendous praise.
The three band members Eric Beaudry, Andre Brunet and Pierre-Luc Dupuis-first met and combined their talents while performing in a different band, La Bottine Souriante, 10-piece ensemble is one of the most prominent bands in the folk music of Quebec. Brunet and Dupuis used to be the main players and bring the singer of the band, while still doing well Beaudry La Bottine Souriante De Temps Antan.
The Band often derives inspiration from the songs of Quebec, from which they find or make their own arrangements. In addition, De Temps Antan supplement their repertoire with compositions of their own, which is a mixture of traditional elements and other styles of music including bluegrass and Cajun music.
